Health Insurance for the Self-Employed
By Melanie Beyerlin

When you are self-employed, the biggest drawback is finding good, affordable health insurance. You can spend weeks or months trying to find health insurance that you can afford, running the risk of an accident or calamity during your uninsured time.

However, there are options for you and services to help you find a great health plan for you and your family. There are several ways to go about your search, and we?re going to talk about each of these so that you can decide what?s best for you.

As with almost everything in our lives, the Internet is a great place to begin. With the click of a button, you can access hundreds of sites that will give you free quotes and great options.

If you search for terms like E-health insurance and self-employed insurance on any major search engine, you will find many possibilities. Most of these sites not only give quotes for hundreds of plans based on your age and location, but they also provide links for you to apply for the insurance plan of your choosing.

Many of the systems will allow you to compare up to four plans to decide which is best for you.

In addition, you can call a local health insurance provider, either before or after doing Internet research. Many times, it?s a good idea to do preliminary research on the Internet to gain some basic knowledge beforehand, then contact your local health insurance provider to check for good deals that may be available.

In addition, you can compare the plans, and then see if the health insurance provider offers you a similar, better, or worse deal when contacted in person.

Also, ask friends and neighbors which insurance they use and see what the advantages and disadvantages are for working with that company. Your best information will come from people who are already customers for a company as they have probably seen both the good and bad sides of the company.

To make your final decision, base your choice on trusted recommendations as well as researched plan options. Look at whether they offer dental and prescription insurance to supplement the basic health insurance.

If pet insurance or other specialty insurances are needed for your family, decide which of the providers can offer these options. After all your research and discussions with family and friends, you can confidently choose the right health insurance for you through a company you trust.

...nsurance is? I know that I had never heard about this type of insurance before until it was brought to my attention recently. The gap insurance covers the deprecation on a car in the event of it being stolen and never recovered. How does it work you might wonder and do you need to take it out if you have outstanding finance on the vehicle? Say you have ten thousand pounds worth of car finance on your car but when it gets stolen the insurance company says it`s only worth eight grand. It means you`ll have to find the extra two thousand pounds to pay off the finance company. If you take out gap insurance on the car, this amount will be covered, so you don`t have to find any additional money to pay off the debt. Most people buy cars and decide to keep them for a set amount of time so they know how much fina...

Car Gap Insurance - Car Gap Insurance
...ust be honest and say that I had never heard of car gap insurance until recently. I suppose unless you buy a car on finance you might not know about such policies. As I understand it the car gap insurance covers you in the event of a car being stolen and never recovered or one that is deemed a total loss by the insurers. If you still owe money on the car to a finance company then the gap insurance will pay off the difference between what the insurer says the car is worth and what finance you have left on it. Some of the policies will even leave you with some money to use as a deposit on another car. It`s, probably something that many people would never even consider when they take a car out on finance. If the insurance company decides that the car is worth less than you thought it might be when it is deemed a total loss then you could have to stump up the money to pay off the bal...
